Morgan Grimes (she/her)

Graduate Student

Chemistry PhD Program (Chemical Biology)

B.S in Chemistry, B.S in Biology, and B.F.A Studio Art from Chapman University. Beginning her PhD in Chemistry. During her undergraduate career, she pursued research in computational chemistry. Her research focused on the oxidant sensing and selectivity of zinc-sulfur complexes implicated in bacterial redox sensing. Utilizing both molecular modelling as well as quantum mechanical calculations she sought to understand the sensing of HOCl, HOBr, and HOSCN by a zinc-cysteine complex by establishing reaction coordinate diagrams.
