Chemistry PhD Program (Chemical Biology)

Izaiah is a first year graduate student in the Chemistry (Chemical Biology) PhD Program. After living the first 18 years of his life in Fresno, CA, he moved out to sunny San Diego where he would obtain his B.S. in Biochemistry/Chemistry. While finishing his undergraduate studies, he obtained a full time role at a micro RNA therapeutics company called Regulus Therapeutics. His work in the Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics Department would help progress a leading drug candidate into clinical trials. After two years of working in the biotech industry and garnering valuable research experience, he returned back to his studies in pursuit of his PhD at UCLA. When Izaiah is not in the lab, you can be sure to find him at any of LA’s beautiful golf courses or skating the night away at Moonlight Rollerway!
