Adrian McFarland (he/him)

Graduate Student

Biochemistry, Molecular, and Structural Biology PhD Program

Adrian received his B.S. in Biochemistry (2023) from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and he is beginning the first year of the BMSB PhD Program in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. His undergraduate work focused on site-directed mutagenesis of specific 70S ribosomal proteins in preparation for smFRET experiments to interrogate the role of the 30S head domain in inter-subunit hyper-rotation in the presence of structured mRNA. Now his expertise in understanding the ribosome and translation is being used in the context of eukaryotic systems within the Lawson Lab.
